Our last day of camp and we are sad but we are so proud of what the kids have accomplished this week!
BOY IT'S A HOT ONE TODAY! Today's book was "I Knew An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly." The kids really enjoyed this book. Have them tell you about it! Each of the campers made an Old Lady Puppet so that they can demonstrate the story for you! We ended the day with a refreshing popsicle!
Today was another great day! We read Harold and the Purple Crayon, made purple pictures using our imagination, worked on our book, played word work games and wrote words in shaving cream!
The day started off great and with some nice weather, and we had some well-needed time outside to relax and unwind! Today was all about Cordoroy and our activities centered around that theme.
We've had a successful day for Week 2! Today we read "Where the Wild Things Are." We made monster pictures, we started writing our books and learned lots of new words. Luckily the rain quit in time to have lunch outside! We have a great group of children! We're looking forward to tomorrow.

The day started off great and with some nice weather, and we had some well-needed time outside to relax and unwind! Today was all about bears, and our activities centered around that theme. The "shaving cream" letter and sound recognition is always a hit!
Our largest group ever of 24 kids began the day excited to start! We had quite a few "repeat" customers, so they helped the new ones right along. See our photos today for our activities!
Today is our last day together.... our theme is GINGERBREAD Men! Lots of fun activities are planned... Stop back to see our pictures from our different activities!
2:25pm - Last batch of photos are updated now. Enjoy! We had a wonderful time with your children - it was an amazing group, and everyone clicked and were great together!
Today our theme is PENGUINS! And comfort... jammies, blankets, pillows! Hot chocolate a little later, and lots of good activities dealing with penguins! The Erie Times News also stopped by this morning, and our "campers" will likely be in the paper shortly! Stay tuned for more photo updates.
We had 18 children ready to go (and the parents were also "ready to go!") As our parents sip coffee at Starbucks and go to work, you can CHECK IN on our most recent activities here on our website! Our first day is SNOWMAN / SNOW!
Reading NOW and Starbucks of Erie (and Santa!) partnered to create a special Kids Night, from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, Dec 17th. The children were entertained by Santa, and various reading and winter craft activities, and sipped hot chocoloate! Parents were treated to free coffee, and pictures from the event are available here!

At our Saturday, October 30 Babygarten class, our little ones dressed up for the occasion and we took pictures! Enjoy.... they sure did! Thanks to our parents and Stefanie for making this such a fun class!

Batch 3 now uploaded - we did James and the Giant Peach, so the project they made is a PEACH (not a pumpkin! tk) Parents, we will have some important flyers and information for you. We will provide at pickup. Thanks! (PHOTOS FOR WEEK ALL UPDATED - THANKS!)

The photographer was in Pittsburgh all day for training, so today's pics will be uploaded by tonight, (8/5/2010) - Thanks for understanding!

More photos from Tuesday were added - go back and peek!

Day 2 starts out strong with camp! Lots of "connections" to what we did yesterday...
Week 3 - our older group! Pics will be updated thru the day, and the weather looks like it will be great this week! Enjoy...

WELL, today was just a little crazy at the Reading NOW offices! Between our fundraiser tonight, assessments, a significant number of phone calls and walk ins, the "photographer" was a little short on pics today. We will make it up tomorrow, with many group shots with their T-shirts and closing activities!
Last batch of photos updated Thursday morning...thanks!
A great day, starting with shaving cream letters, and some great activities!
We had 25 smiling faces starting the day! We will update photos throughout the day, as our professional photographer has time! Keep checking in... We are hoping the weather holds off so we can have lunch outside.
Our last day :( Find your child!!! They are the one in the green shirt! Today's special activity - a guided reading group, outside in a tent! Pics will be posted soon...
Busy today, so the photographer is behind! A lot going on today! :)
NOTE: Last batch of Tuesday photos from late afternoon were uploaded this morning to the Tues folder. The photographer/website developer was TIRED last night! :)
Started the day with a cool activity - shaving cream word building!

UPDATED Friday, July 31, at 2:26 pm. What a fun group of kids! Most popular comment as of Friday - "This was a lot more fun than I thought!" Yeah, I wanna come next year!" They are all very enthusiastic about their work, and are enjoying the writing process. Many of the early pictures are graphic organizers, as we taught them how to organize their thoughts visually before just "jumping into" writing something. You will see the final product in their books they are creating. Also, look at the "compare and contrast" Venn Diagram on Tuck Everlasting - what a great project!
